Award-winning Florida author pushes for a blue revolution

Award-winning Gainesville journalist Cynthia Barnett is calling for a national water ethic.  Barnett, a senior writer for Florida Trend Magazine kicks off a national tour for her new book called “Blue Revolution:  Unmaking America’s Water Crisis” this Sunday, October 2nd at 2:15 at the Matheson Museum in Gainesville.  Proceeds from the sale of her new book will help support the Blue Path water awareness programs of Florida’s Eden.  Barnett talked with Florida’s 89.1, WUFT-FM’s Donna Green-Townsend about the need to change attitudes toward the country’s fresh water supplies.

‘The Blue Path’ combines art and science to bring awareness about springs protection (01/24/2011)

There’s a new grassroots effort underway to try and save Florida’s springs. It’s called “The Blue Path.” The campaign incorporates the “Arts” into the picture. The Blue Path campaign includes the current exhibit at the Florida Museum of Natural History as well as area painters and photographers among others. The coordinator for “The Blue Path” is Annie Pais who is also the Executive Director of “Florida’s Eden” organization. She talked with WUFT’s Donna Green-Townsend.
