Hurricane recovery efforts are underway from the Carolinas all the way up the Northeast Coast. Not only are Red Cross and Salvation Army volunteers giving their time to assist victims of Hurricane Irene, but 82-thousand disaster relief volunteers from the Florida Baptist Convention have headed to storm-stricken areas. They’re serving food from meal trucks, using chainsaws to cut up tree limbs off homes and shoveling mud from flooded houses. Florida’s 89.1, WUFT-FM’s Donna Green-Townsend talked with the spokesman for the North American Mission Board, Mike Ebert, about the massive relief effort.
